Absurd

"I think,"
you said.
Nothing more.
Or
at least
that's all I heard.

Absurd,
the notion,
the words
put in motion,
and I can't see
through your haze.
If I bleed,
please look away.
My heart
stops,
starts,
and locks
and my lungs
won't work.
Into the sun,
into the murk,
I had your hand
if you had mine;
don't misunderstand.
No really, it's fine.
